Now the loss of shadow signifies the sun's disappearance, without which, as we know, things would only be what they are. And indeed, in our virtual universe, our universe of clones, our shadowless universe, things are only what they are. They are even so in innumerable examples, multiplied in total freedom, since the shadow was in some way the measure of being, its singular limit- what prevented being from reproducing itself to infinity.
